Understanding Fever

Before we delve into the treatment, it’s important to understand what a fever is. A fever is a temporary increase in body temperature, often due to an illness. It’s a sign that your body is fighting off an infection. Fever is not to be feared. Fever is a sign your body is working properly when you are ill.

Fever is one of the body's most effective ways of fighting infection.

Here are some reasons why:

  • It decreases the growth and reproduction of bacteria and viruses.

  • It decreases the amount of iron available to bacteria, effectively shortening its lifespan.

  • It enhances the migration of neutrophil, a type of white blood cell that fights infection.

  • It increases superoxide production, which can kill invading viruses and bacteria.

  • It is a good indication that the immune system is doing its job.

Homeopathic Approach to Fever

Homeopathy believes in holistic treatment, which means it doesn’t just focus on the disease but the patient as a whole. The choice of homeopathic medicine for fever depends on the cause and individual symptoms of the fever.

The important thing to understand while using homeopathy to treat a fever is homeopathy does not suppress the fever. The correct homeopathic remedy helps the body heal itself by going through the healing bell curve faster and staying on the designed path of the sickness versus the illness going deeper within the body and in turn causing a deeper issue.
